Rhonda K. Busch.
Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh. The things you can think up if you only try.
In 2017, Rhonda K. Busch completed an outstanding career as a teacher in the Traverse City Area Public Schools. She first taught at Leelanau St. Mary’s School, but soon moved to Interlochen Community Elementary School. She completed her career as a 3rd grade teacher at Old Mission Elementary School. Upon her retirement, she was recognized by the Traverse City Education Association with the distinguished Outstanding Person in Education (OPIE) Award. Rhonda and her husband Bob are proud parents of two Traverse City Central High School grads and their grandson will be a senior at CHS this year. Rhonda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Marygrove College. Rhonda is a strong advocate for recognizing the needs of the whole child, the value of solid teaching programs, using student achievement data to drive instruction, and collaborative partnerships within the family and academic team to address the needs and expectations of all students. Upon her retirement, she knew that she was not finished with her involvement in education. Over the past year, she has been a guest teacher and working as a reading interventionist at Traverse Heights Elementary. She now believes she can expand her impact on the lives of children as a member of the TCAPS School Board.
